C80.XOUT

C80.XOUT is a programmable HE (Heavy Equipment) CANbus ECU for mid-to-large mobile machinery and vehicles. With 37 inputs and 32 outputs, it centrally manages extensive sensor, valve and relay infrastructure. Two CAN interfaces, dual-microcontroller architecture and EN ISO 13849-1 PL/d safety performance make it a reliable master solution for LMI, aerial platform and complex multiplex control applications.

Key Specifications

  • 37 inputs + 32 outputs, HE-class master ECU
  • 2 independent CANbus ports (CANopen / SAE J1939)
  • Programmable embedded software
  • Cross-checked I/O via dual-microcontroller architecture
  • Over-current, over-voltage and reverse polarity protection
  • Internal watchdog safety relay
  • Diagnostics and current feedback on all I/O
  • EN ISO 13849-1 PL/d, CE and EMC compliant

Technical Details

C80.XOUT is a high-channel master control unit in the HE (Heavy Equipment) class of the Avioni programmable ECU family. It is designed for sensor reading, output driving, safety logic and CAN-based system integration in mobile cranes, aerial work platforms, fire trucks, concrete pumps and multi-function construction machinery. Thirty-seven inputs and thirty-two outputs meet centralized control needs for mid-to-large applications from a single unit.

Input and Output Capabilities

C80.XOUT can be configured with the input and output types supported by the Avioni ECU platform. In addition to digital I/O, sensor interfaces such as 0–5 V and 0–30 V analog voltage, 0–20 mA current, frequency/RPM, resistance, quadrature encoder and duty cycle measurement, and actuator drive options such as high/low-side PWM, ratiometric voltage and frequency output can be used according to project requirements. Field elements such as limit switches, pressure sensors, joysticks, angle/length sensors (ALX, 3X), loadcells (PL1000) and hydraulic proportional valves can be managed from one ECU.

Two-CAN Network Architecture

C80.XOUT provides two independent CANbus ports. HMI displays, sensor modules, slave ECUs and third-party CAN devices can be integrated in the same machine architecture. Each port supports CANopen and SAE J1939 protocols. As master in multiplex systems, it works with C24, C48 and C72 series units, AVD HMI displays and the Avioni sensor ecosystem.

Safety and Reliability

Like all Avioni master ECUs, C80.XOUT uses a dual-microcontroller architecture for cross-checking of input and output behavior. Over-current protection, over-voltage protection, reverse polarity protection and an internal watchdog safety relay are provided as standard. Diagnostics and current feedback on all inputs and outputs help detect conditions such as wire breaks, short circuits or faulty actuators at an early stage.

The unit is designed and tested to meet EN ISO 13849-1 at performance level PL/d. It carries CE marking and has been verified against the relevant standards under EMC Directive 2014/30/EU.

Javelin Suite Integration

C80.XOUT is configured and commissioned with Avioni Javelin Suite engineering software. The following operations can be performed via Javelin Suite:

• Application software upload and updates (firmware)
• I/O mapping and parameter configuration
• Safety logic and function block definition
• System calibration and functional testing
• Live CAN data monitoring and debugging
• Reading fault codes and diagnostic information
• Project file management and field configuration

With UCAN-USB or UCAN-BT adapters, Javelin Suite provides wired or wireless access in workshop and field environments.

Position in the ECU Family

C24.XOUT (8+8) is the entry level for compact applications. C48 and C72 series cover mid-scale channel needs. C80.XOUT (37+32, 2× CAN) is the ideal balance for applications requiring high channel count without a third CAN bus. When more I/O or a third CAN network is needed, C121.XOUT (60+40
