PL1000
PL1000 is a platform-type (single-point) CANbus load cell. With a 1000 kg rated capacity, embedded amplifier and configurable CAN output, it is designed for load monitoring, overload protection and LMI systems on aerial work platforms (MEWP) and similar applications. IP67 protection and a -40 °C to +85 °C operating range suit harsh field conditions.

Technical Details
PL1000 is the platform-type CANbus solution in the Avioni load cell family. Mounted at the platform base on aerial work platforms (MEWP), platform vehicles and mobile equipment requiring load limit indication (LMI), it provides real-time load measurement. The embedded electronic amplifier eliminates the need for an external signal conditioner; measurement data is transmitted directly over the CAN network or via optional analog output.
Measurement Performance
Rated capacity is 1000 kg; safe overload limit is defined as 1500 kg. Default resolution is 1.0 kg and can be set to 0.1 kg precision via CAN message. A built-in signal filter delivers stable, repeatable results under vibration and dynamic load changes. The platform-type (single-point) design provides reliable measurement even when load is offset from center on the platform.
CANbus Communication
PL1000 transmits measurement data over CANbus. Node-ID is adjustable from 1 to 127 (default: 10h). Baud rate options: 20, 50, 100, 125, 250, 500 kbps and 1 Mbps (default: 250 kbps). CAN message period can be selected as 10 ms, 50 ms, 100 ms, 500 ms or 1000 ms (default: 100 ms). Heartbeat message is sent in 700h + Node-ID format. This flexibility enables easy integration into different machine architectures and existing CAN networks.
Mechanical and Electrical Design
The body is reinforced with polyurethane resin fill in a 7000-series aluminum housing and stainless steel covers on top and bottom. IP67 protection class provides full dust and water protection. Operating temperature is -40 °C to +85 °C. Supply voltage is 8–35 V DC with reverse polarity, over-current, over-voltage and short-circuit protection as standard. Connection is provided by a standard 3-metre cable; optional M12 4-pin connector is available.
Optional Features
In addition to CANbus output, 4–20 mA and 0–5 V analog signal output options are available. Optional redundant configuration is offered for safety-critical applications.
System Integration
PL1000 integrates directly with Avioni ECUs, HMI displays and LMI software. Sensor data is sent to the control unit over the CAN network for platform load, overload alarm and load-moment calculations. During commissioning, Node-ID, baud rate, resolution and message period can be configured via Javelin Suite and UCAN adapters; calibration and functional tests can be performed.
