Sensors
ALX.070
ALX.070 is a draw-wire sensor that combines length measurement up to 7 metres and 0–360° angle sensing in a single unit. With CANopen output, millimetre length resolution and ±0.1° angle accuracy, it is designed for boom position monitoring on medium-boom mobile cranes, aerial platforms and LMI systems. Full metal enclosure and IP65 protection suit harsh field conditions.

Technical Details
ALX.070 is the 7-metre range model in the Avioni ALX draw-wire family. It combines length and integrated angle sensing in one enclosure, reducing wiring and simplifying installation. Designed for simultaneous boom length and angle monitoring on medium-boom aerial work platforms, small to mid-size mobile cranes, telescopic arm systems and LMI applications.
Draw-Wire Length Measurement
ALX.070 measures steel cable payout on the boom or telescopic arm via draw-wire principle. The 7-metre range suits most MEWP and medium-boom machinery applications, offering a more compact and efficient solution than ALX.150 or ALX.200 on shorter boom structures. Length transmitted at mm resolution over CAN.
Integrated Angle Sensor
Single-axis 0–360° angle sensor in vertical position. Range 0–360° or -180° .. +180° via CAN; clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. Resolution 0.01° (0.1° via CAN). Accuracy ±0.1°.
Signal Processing, CANopen and Mechanical Design
Moving average and Kalman filters against vibration and mechanical play. CANopen with adjustable Node-ID, baud rate and message period (default: Node 1, 250 kbps, 100 ms). Heartbeat 0x700 + Node-ID. Full metal enclosure, IP65, -40 °C to +85 °C, 8–35 V DC with full protection. M12 4-pin or cable connection.
System Integration and Product Family
Integrates with Avioni ECUs, HMIs and LMI software. Complete LMI with PL1000 and 3X sensors. Commissioning via Javelin Suite.
ALX.020 (2 m), ALX.050 (5 m), ALX.070 (7 m) for short-medium booms; ALX.150 (15 m) and ALX.200 (20 m) for long booms. ALX.070 is the ideal balance for applications up to 7 m.
Typical Applications
• MEWP boom monitoring
• Small and mid-size mobile cranes
• Telescopic and knuckle-boom systems
• LMI and safety limit control
• Compact machinery and on-vehicle equipment
